Sidaction is launching the second edition of its HIV Pocket Films competition, again with the aim of informing young people about HIV and raising their awareness of sexual risks.
HIV Pocket Films is a project supported by institutional partners, aimed at 15-25 year-olds. They are invited to make a video using their cell phone on the theme of prevention or living with HIV. Participants are invited to submit their videos between October 1, 2013 and January 31, 2014 on the Sidaction website: www.sidaction.org. A jury made up of audiovisual, communications and AIDS professionals will select ten winning videos, which will be awarded prizes at Sidaction 2014.
A DVD will be produced from the winning videos. It will be distributed free of charge to over 19,000 youth centers. Accompanying the DVD will be a series of fact sheets designed to help young people understand, talk about and tackle the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. These sheets will be used by teachers, social workers and socio-cultural organizers to propose debates, presentations and animation sessions on issues related to the disease. The French Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Research, Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Associative Life, are joining forces for the 2013 edition of the HIV Pocket Films competition. They are opening up their respective networks and partners to Sidaction, announcing the competition and distributing the educational DVD.
