Moncler makes mountain and city talk in its Autumn-Winter 2026 Footwear collection

Moncler has never hidden where it comes from: a village in the French mountains, Monestier-de-Clermont, where the brand was born in 1952 to face the cold before seducing the runways. Its Autumn/Winter 2026 Footwear collection embraces this double lineage, between the summit and the street, through a series of collaborations that say as much about the era as about the house itself: Clarks Originals, Rick Owens, Moon Boot. Three universes that nothing seemed to destine to share the same Vibram sole.

The most anticipated meeting is no doubt the one with Rick Owens, whose radical and dark aesthetic finds in the Trailgrip Megalace an unprecedented interpretation of outdoor technicality. Quilted nylon, leather, architectural volumes, a spectacular rear lacing: the California-born designer based in Paris imposes his sculptural vocabulary on an object originally conceived for performance in the natural environment. The result raises questions as much as it seduces, like everything Owens has touched for twenty years.

In contrast to this avant-garde gesture, the collaboration with Clarks Originals plays the card of reassuring heritage. The Wallabee, a durable silhouette of the British wardrobe since the 1960s, is given a Gore-Tex membrane and a Vibram Trailgrip sole signed Moncler, without losing the extra soul that made its legend. A successful balancing act: modernising without denaturing, a challenge few fashion collaborations actually manage to meet.

Between these two poles, the Trailgrip line continues its organic development, enriched with new colourways and new technical variants, while the collaboration with Moon Boot, presented at the Moncler Grenoble show in Aspen, brings together the snow boot and the western boot in a gesture more unexpected than it seems. At a house less sure of its identity, this accumulation of collaborations could turn into dispersion. At Moncler, it works as a show of strength: that of an Alpine label sure enough of its fundamentals to let itself be reinterpreted by voices as far apart from one another as these, without ever losing the thread that links them all to the mountain.
