Crabe Royal sets up shop at Galeries Lafayette Gourmet
Building on the success of its Place de le Madeleine restaurant, Crabe Royal has moved into the Galeries Lafayette Gourmet, seducing Parisians and tourists alike with a gourmet stopover in this temple of pleasure.
Created in 2016 by the Caviar Kaspia Group, which excels in luxury gastronomy, the Royal Crab restaurant is entirely dedicated to Kamchatka Royal Crab, fished in the purest tradition off the coast of Alaska since 1870 and particularly renowned for its delicate meat.
The décor of this marine island remains faithful to the ambiance of the parent company, transporting guests directly across the Atlantic to Cape Cod or, closer to home, to the beaches of Cap Ferret with its seafood restaurants. Delicately hand-painted fishing scenes and a trawler adorn the walls, reinforcing the maritime spirit of the place while recalling the origins of this coveted crab.
In terms of gastronomy, all the signature dishes, already so popular on Place de la Madeleine, make this corner a lovely iodized interlude, whether you decide to dine in or take away.
From the famous Crab’rolls, already a staple at Place de la Madeleine and also available in a lobster version, to crab claws grilled with yuzu or au gratin, Crab’cakes and the Crab’Burger, the menu also offers a range of sweet treats, in keeping with the Cape Cod spirit, including cheesecake, cookies and muffins. And to the delight of Parisians in a hurry, almost all of this fine selection can be taken away to enjoy at the office or at home.
On the delicatessen side, you’ll find the must-try taramas, particularly crab taramas, as well as cod roe, tobika wasabi and sea urchin coral taramas, all made according to traditional recipes and best served with the crackers that go perfectly with them.
Sardines, mackerel and tuna bellies are also seductive in their attractive packaging, ready to be slipped under the Christmas tree or elsewhere.
