In the heart of the village of Megève, 100 m from the Monseigneur Conseil pedestrian street and 300 m from the Chamois gondola, the 5-star Le M de Megève hotel blends seamlessly into this legendary resort… Forget the car: leave Le M on foot, by gondola or horse-drawn carriage and enjoy nature at its very best.
Heritage and modernity for a reinvented hotel.
Le M de Megève reinvents itself and expands. Jean-Noël Picot, an architect from Megevan, has successfully met a major challenge with this project for the M de Megève: to propose an extension in the spirit of today, while bringing the 80s building up to date, by dressing it up, rehabilitating it and coordinating the two projects. Constrained by height limits, the buildings were carved out of the rock, while at the same time creating skylights.
An approach perfectly suited to the mountains, highlighting local materials and regional know-how.
Entrusted to alain Perrier, the interior design contributes to the spirit of the place. This Savoyard interior designer likes to combine different styles, materials and connotations. “I like to draw inspiration for a place from the past, to bring volumes back to life, to look for innovative concepts appropriate to different spaces, with a touch of the unusual,” explains Alain Perrier.
For the M de Megève, Filature Arpin has come up with an original and exclusive fabric that uses its famous “ladder stitch overlock” and is available for the hotel’s curtains, plaids and cushions, always with the same color code: pumpkin, anthracite and ash, from the bedrooms to the reception and dining areas.
On its Jacquard looms, listed as a national heritage site, the Filature has woven the famous “tissu des Alpes”, an original fabric made from 100% local alpine wool, traditionally used for mountain hut blankets, and adapted here for curtains. Almost two hundred years old, Filature Arpin, which has been based in Savoie since its foundation, manufactures woollen cloth known the world over. It is the heir to a unique know-how handed down from generation to generation. The cushions are made from Mûletier fabric, formerly used for barn covers. Maison Arpin also designed and made the uniforms for the hotel staff, in keeping with the M identity and the same spirit of quality: large coats, three-quarter jackets and wool vests, in taupe for the women and anthracite for the men.

It’s a habit for children, but at Le M de Megève, adults are getting into the habit too, enjoying the conviviality of a shared moment of pleasure…
A privileged moment, the snack is a daily habit for 99% of French families: gustatory pleasure, relaxation and renewed energy are on the agenda. While children are particularly fond of this moment, adults are getting into it too: much more than a passing fad, the grown-up snack has become a real trend. Considered the most fun meal of the day, the four-hour snack is also a time punctuated by “little pleasures”, providing a real gourmet break in the day.
