La Dolce Vita Orient Express is announcing four Italian routes for 2027. What they share is not only the train: it is a map linking cities and territories where wine, the table and the landscape shape the journey.
Four routes, several Italies
The first route brings together Rome, Portofino, Venice and Tuscany, with Florence among its stops. The second, the Italian Wine Route, links Bolgheri and Verona. The third heads for Alba and the Langhe, around the truffle. The fourth reaches Venice from Rome via Bolgheri.
These routes are announced for 2027. The information available does not allow us to give departure dates or fares here.
Bolgheri, a point of passage
Bolgheri appears on two itineraries. The stop connects the Tuscan coast and its vineyards to a rail narrative that continues towards Verona or Venice. On the operator’s website, the Italian Wine Route is given as three days and two nights between Rome, Bolgheri, Verona and Rome; the Rome–Venice journey via Bolgheri is presented as lasting two days and one night.
Alba and the truffle route
The route devoted to Alba brings Piedmont into this geography. The operator describes it as a Rome–Alba–Rome round trip of three days and two nights. The account can thus stay with the route and with Alba’s place within the whole, without turning the commercial promise into a documented experience.
A train that links stories of place
The subject echoes Luxsure’s earlier stories on Tuscany and on La Dolce Vita Orient Express, while remaining distinct: it is neither a Palio itinerary nor a regional guide. The four routes describe a 2027 programme whose practical terms remain to be confirmed with the operator.
