Costa Navarino, located in the Messinian region of south-western Peloponnese, is an ideal family destination.

Navarino Dunes’ two hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, make this Mediterranean destination the ideal place for family vacations.

At the Westin Resort Costa Navarino, the needs of children and young people are a priority, creating a warm family atmosphere ideal for relaxing, taking your mind off things and letting your imagination run wild. The hotel offers family and connecting rooms, as well as children’s check-in and other unique services.

Facilities for children and young people include:

The Cocoon day nursery, specially designed to welcome babies and toddlers from four months to three years. They will be able to express their creativity and develop their senses, under the benevolent care of qualified and experienced staff. Cocoon offers its services on a half-day or full-day basis. Dedicated play areas are available for parents who wish to enjoy the facilities with their children. For babies aged 8 to 18 months, a sensory exploration program has been developed, with music, singing and games to develop movement. For children aged 18 months to 3 years, the program of activities enables them to develop their skills with role-playing, singing, dancing and games to develop their motor skills.

SandCastle offers fun, educational activities and overnight stays for children. Sandcastle offers different activities for each age group, from 4 to 7 and 8 to 12. Children staying at Costa Navarino can enjoy Sandcastle and its activities all day long, where their every need is catered for. Through discovery and creation, and with the support of WWKC-qualified staff, children can broaden their knowledge and develop their skills.

New experiences let them take part in the history of Costa Navarino and the Messinian region. Role-playing games let them take on the role of Messinian pirates, follow in the footsteps of Hercules in Messinia or explore the surrounding countryside. Children of all ages can learn all about the environment and how to protect the region’s natural wonders and rare species, such as the Caouannes sea turtle, the African chameleon and endemic flora, on treks organized in collaboration with National Geographic. Children can also take part in craft workshops and cooking and pastry classes. Young guests can be inspired by the local way of life and reproduce their experiences through pottery and painting, bringing the region’s history and traditions to life.

Both centers are managed by the Wordwide Kids Company (WWKC), a renowned company in the training of childcare professionals. With the help of Costa Navarino, they offer a unique combination of the best activities for children, enabling the whole family to enjoy an extraordinary vacation. WWKC’s expertise joins the destination’s philosophy of creating experiences for the youngest that they will remember.

Sports activities

Messinia’s exceptional natural setting and mild climate make Costa Navarino an ideal year-round destination. Thanks to a wide range of sports and leisure activities, children of all ages can enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits. The Navarino Dunes Sports & Entertainment Center features a bowling alley and basketball court. The Navarino Racquet Academy is fully equipped for tennis, squash, badminton, paddle tennis and beach tennis. Experienced coaches accompany children and beginners in their games. Mini-tennis and golf lessons, featuring innovative games and techniques, are also available for children. Afterwards, they can cool off with a dip or a slide in the on-site water park. Navarino Sea offers a wide range of water sports, such as surfing, kite-surfing and diving, which can be enjoyed all year round thanks to the mild temperatures. Children can accompany their parents on bike rides organized by Navarino Outdoors to discover the Messinian countryside.

Golf

Children can take golf lessons at the Golf Academy. In addition to golf lessons adapted to their level and age, young guests can learn the sport in a fun and entertaining way with Starting New at Golf (SNAG®). SNAG is a method developed over several years that combines learning and playing with the aim of developing technique and learning for beginners, using adapted equipment and programs.

Navarino Natura Hall

The Navarino Natura Hall is an interactive space where children can learn all about the natural environment, the land and the people of Messinia in a fun and educational way. The center offers specially designed interactive technology systems, presentations, films and programs, making it the ideal starting point for discovering the region’s natural heritage. The center was created in collaboration with the University of Stockholm, the Academy of Athens, the Hellenic Ornithological Society, the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) and the Navarino Foundation.
