Diptyque – Pop-up 2016 Paris, London and Brooklyn

Starting in November, the Maison will present its winter collections “Une Nuit chez diptyque” and curiosities from La Collection 34, in an ephemeral staging under the aegis of the theater, a universe dear to the Maison through the origins of one of its founders, Yves Coueslant, a theater administrator. A nod, too, to the Pollocks theaters, the inspiration for the winter tale “Une Nuit chez diptyque” (A Night at Diptych), once sold in the historic boutique at 34 boulevard Saint Germain, Paris.

The world of the stage and its backstage are reinvented: from antique furniture, sideboards and cinema seats, to grand old-fashioned chandeliers shining a thousand lights in the dark recesses of the stories told every day, and so loved by diptyque. As they stroll along, passers-by discover perfumes for themselves or for the home, and limited-edition end-of-year candles in their colorful, poetic garb. A warm theater, enhanced by decorated trees, motley objects and giant advent calendars, invites visitors to enjoy a visual and fragrant experience, where the scents of “Roi Sapin”, “Épices et délices” and “Encens Étoilé”, straight out of the tale “Une Nuit chez diptyque”, envelop visitors.

We’d love to tour these 3 capitals to discover the richness of these stagings!

Each pop-up is an homage to theater, and each city has the freedom to interpret it in its own way. As many settings as cultures. At Invisible Dog in Brooklyn, New York, you’ll find the traditional family spirit of the holiday season. In London, from Covent Garden, a mythical theatrical venue if ever there was one, to Boxpark, where informal containers echo the spirit behind the scenes, diptych creations become actors for a day, reigning over these festivities to please those we love. Paris is not to be outdone, with an appearance on rue Saint Honoré, where, between 2 magic tricks, visitors can discover the art of diptyque gift wrap: a tribute to the refinement of the art of folding. Trios of colorful tissue papers envelop each fragrance in its own harmony. A joyful, festive world from which to emerge with the feeling of having been welcomed into the home of an enlightened connoisseur whose only passion is to share it and re-enchant the cold winter months.
