For the 2018 edition of its eagerly awaitedWinter collections, diptyque is once again teaming up with long-time accomplice Pierre Marie.
Born in 1982, this Parisian designer with a singular universe works mostly for fashion and decoration. He is best known for the silk squares he has been designing for Hermès since 2008. His creations always blend narrative with ornamentation, and are distinguished by the baroque profusion of images that compose them, and his way of working the
motif with a desire to follow in the purest tradition of the decorative arts. Pierre Marie had already collaborated with diptyque in the past for the Winter 2010 and 2016 collections, and regularly illustrates the House’s fragrances.
Usually drawing his inspiration from nature, folklore or animated films, the very history of Maison diptyque, which he is particularly fond of, constitutes an endless playground for him.
This year, with “La légende du Nord”, Pierre Marie has created a winter legend featuring the spirits of an imaginary folklore.
A wonderful story, told with the complicity of Ahmed Terbaoui, in which the
diptyque candles conceal magical powers. Each candle represents, through its decoration and scent, one of the spirits of the legend,
, and holds a secret that is revealed during an invocation ritual …
