ith the arrival of summer, Les Jamelles unveils its latest creation: Grenache Blanc 2021. Fresh and aromatic, this wine completes the Les Jamelles collection, offering a summery alternative for lovers of Mediterranean varietals.
Grenache Blanc, a grape variety often used in blends, is honored here as a single variety. Catherine Delaunay and her teams have succeeded in sublimating this grape variety with its natural aromas and consensual style. The Les Jamelles range now includes a Grenache Blanc, alongside a Grenache Rouge and a Grenache Gris.
Grown in IGP Pays d’Oc, the grapes come from vines planted on clay-limestone soil, located between the Alaric mountains and the Mediterranean coast in the Corbières Centrales. The grapes are harvested at the end of the night to preserve their organoleptic intensity, then cold-pressed and débourrés before being fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 8 days. The wine is then aged on fine lees for several months.
Grenache Blanc 2021 has a pale yellow color and a highly aromatic taste. On the nose, it reveals notes of white fruits such as greengage and nectarine, floral notes, and touches of dill and lemon zest to enhance its aromatic expression. On the palate, the wine is round, full-bodied and fresh, with good length.
Perfect as an aperitif with tapas, this Grenache Blanc also goes wonderfully well with dishes such as calamari stuffed à la sétoise, gambas or goat’s cheese. Catherine Delaunay also recommends pairing it with an exotic fruit salad.
Since 1995, Catherine and Laurent Delaunay have fallen under the spell of the Languedoc region and, with Les Jamelles, offer a range of authentic, timeless wines reflecting the art of living in the South of France.
