The famous malt sign receives two of the whisky world’s highest distinctions in the 10 year old and under category, as well as in the multiple cask category.
Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible is “THE” guide to every whisky on sale in the world. Jim Murray personally tastes each whisky and assigns it a score out of 100. This overall score is based on four key criteria – bouquet, flavour, finish and balance – for which he assigns a score out of 25 points. Glen Grant 10 Year Old Scottish Single Malt scored 96 out of a possible 100 points. According to Jim Murray’s tasting notes, “Glen Grant’s usual crisp notes are softened by a delicate, if not light fruity touch, an abundance of vanilla and toffee aromas; magnificent!”
For the fourth year running, Jim Murray has awarded Glen Grant Single Malt of the Year in the 10 Years Old and Under category (multiple casks). Glen Grant also won Single Malt of the Year for the entire multi-cask category. In his summary of this whisky, Jim Murray writes: “Unquestionably the best ten-year-old Glen Grant has ever tasted. An absolute success! It won’t be long before the quality of this distillery takes its place in people’s minds”.
Glen Grant 10 Year Old Scottish Single Malt, like the entire Glen Grant range, has been painstakingly created by Master Distiller Dennis Malcom, who still uses the same innovative distilling methods that James Grant, the Major, developed. For generations, these methods have been perfected to create Glen Grant’s distinctive flavors, colors and finishes.
Since 1840, Glen Grant has been renowned for its light, fresh whisky, for its history rooted in both tradition and innovation, and for its distillery, a symbol of Speyside whisky-making practices. Lively, fresh and light, the essence of Glen Grant is reflected in the wooded surroundings of the distillery, where the sun’s rays, the air and the pure water of the Highlands come together in a charming Victorian garden, renowned for its singularity and beauty.
High and fine, the distillery’s unique stills and special purifiers, developed over a century ago by Major James Grant, continue to impart a light, fresh character to its whiskies, allowing Glen Grant to stand out clearly from other Speyside single malts.
Major James Grant believed, like his father and uncle, that single malt whisky was the only true whisky. All three set out to create the best possible single malt, young and fresh, making the traditional Scotch whisky with its dark hues, smoky and floral notes that few people really understand. Glen Grant strives for a premium whisky that embodies modern production and craftsmanship, while offering consumers an experience that is simply perfect.
