Who doesn’t know the little white cat from Japan, with its red bow on its ear? Thanks to their kawaii charm, simplicity and girly colors? Hello Kitty and Madame Câlin are characters created by the Japanese company Sanrio, and loved by generations of women the world over!
As part of a partnership with the Colette boutique, the Ciel patisserie has created two new Angel Cakes: the Fraise, a Hello Kitty special, and the Sakura, a Madame Câlin special, on sale exclusively at the Colette boutique until May 31, and then at the Ciel patisserie until the end of July. In fact, the patisserie’s window display will feature these two charming characters throughout this period.
Angel Cake is a very popular cake in Japan. Its particularity lies in its volume, achieved by stiffly whipped egg whites, and its round shape with a small well in the middle. This light, airy, melt-in-the-mouth cake is made from flour, eggs, sugar, grapeseed oil and water. The absence of butter makes this low-calorie sponge cake a favorite with figure-conscious gourmets!
As well as Hello Kitty and Madame Câlin Angel Cakes, Ciel also offers Vanille Caramel, Chocolate, Passion Banana Pineapple, Matcha, Yuzu and Basil Lemon flavours!
Hello Kitty Angel Cake is made with two different doughs: vanilla and strawberry. It is then filled with wild strawberry jam and served with vanilla whipped cream. La’Angel Cake Madame Câlin is made with Angel Cake dough mixed with cherry blossom petals and leaves. It is then filled with a cherry jam made at the Ciel! patisserie.
