Burberry unveils “ My Burberry Black”, its new fragrance for women, inspired by the heritage of the black trench coat. To mark the occasion, Burberry introduces its first Snapchat filter and launches a campaign with English actress Lily James.
The campaign was shot by Mario Testino under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Creative Director.
THE CAMPAIGN

Created by Christopher Bailey, in collaboration with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the My Burberry Black bottles reflect the sensual elements of a Burberry trench coat on bare skin.
The fragrance fuses the scent of jasmine blossom and peach nectar blended with vanilla and candied rose. The signature rose note at the heart of My Burberry gives a sweet, inviting candied twist, while a rich amber patchouli note rounds out the fragrance for a deep, captivating finish.
My Burberry Black is bottled in an amber-colored bottle, whose overall design reflects the details of Burberry’s black Heritage trench coat. A dark horn cap evokes the distinctive buttons and a hand-tied English gabardine bow – made in Castleford, Yorkshire – pays homage to the weather-resistant fabric invented by Thomas Burberry over 100 years ago.
Christopher Bailey, Managing Director and Chief Creative Officer Burberry:
“I’m so pleased to have worked with the beautiful and brilliant Lily James on our new My Burberry campaign. I’ve admired her work for some time now and was overwhelmed by her wonderful charm and likeability when we first met, so it was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to collaborate on this shoot together.”
