Lug Von Siga turns Milan into the theatre of an Anatolian silence

For its debut at Milan Fashion Week, the Istanbul house founded by Gül Ağış presents Il Silenzio, a Spring-Summer 2027 collection in which the embroidered handkerchief becomes the symbol of a love spoken without words.

There are houses that choose Milan to make themselves known there, and others that return to it to close a personal story. Lug Von Siga belongs to the second category. In presenting its Spring-Summer 2027 collection on Thursday 24 September 2026 at Milan Fashion Week the brand, founded in 2010 in Istanbul by Gül Ağış, is not landing in unknown territory: its designer spent ten years of training and career there before returning to Turkey to found her own house. The return to Milan thus closes a personal loop as much as it opens a new international chapter for a brand with some 80 points of sale worldwide.

The collection is called Il Silenzio, and its title states its ambition at once: to make silence not an absence, but a space in which emotion, memory and emotional bonds reach their maximum intensity. Inspired by the spiritual and poetic universe of Rumi and Shams, the collection explores the moments when one turns inward — the silent connection with the divine, the waiting for the beloved, the words one chooses not to say and carries within.

At the centre of this narrative stands an object steeped in history: the handkerchief, rooted in an old Anatolian tradition in which it was exchanged between lovers at the moment of parting, carrying the memory of the beloved and the hope of reunion. In Il Silenzio, it becomes the symbol of love, absence, reunion and unspoken words — a textile and symbolic red thread running through the whole collection.

This dialogue between past and present also plays out in the material. Details that recall the delicate craft techniques found in a grandmother’s trousseau, evoking childhood memories, are reinterpreted through Gül Ağış’s contemporary eye, preserving the intimacy of Anatolian handwork while giving it a modern expression. The colour palette unfolds in white, off-white and translucent tones, for a sensation of lightness and calm, while silk, georgette and transparent taffeta are combined with technical materials, setting contrasting textures against complementary sensibilities. Fluid fabrics meet structured surfaces, and meticulous artisanal details interrupt the collection’s pared-back lines.

For Lug Von Siga, silence is also a form of luxury: that of time, patience and what is done slowly, that of details that cannot be hurried and of the depth accumulated through observation and dedication to design. By choosing Milan to tell this story, the Istanbul house asserts a simple conviction — that the deepest emotions do not always reside in what is said, but in what remains suspended.
