After a first partnership in 2025, the watchmaker renews its role as the “watchmaker of video game creators” for Modern Warfare 4, due on 23 October.
A second mission
Hamilton returns to the world of Call of Duty with a new collaboration inspired by Modern Warfare 4, whose release is announced for 23 October. After a first partnership forged in 2025, the house continues its openly claimed role as “watchmaker of video game creators”, a positioning that echoes its history in cinema: Hamilton watches have appeared in more than five hundred films and television productions, helping, according to the house, to bring characters and stories to life.
This doubling of registers — cinema on one side, video games on the other — allows Hamilton to claim a fundamental coherence: the brand does not collaborate at the whim of commercial opportunities, but has long been building an identity as a character’s watch, present in fiction as much as in its own catalogue.
A piece written for a character
The collaboration takes the form of a special edition of the Khaki Field Mechanical, worn by Captain Price in the game. The 38 mm case in sandblasted black PVD draws on the aesthetic of contemporary tactical equipment; the dial, with its grainy, rugged texture, takes up the game’s emblematic “4” typography and stands out with touches of colour referring to its visual universe.
On the back, an engraving depicts the characteristic sound wave of Modern Warfare, a reference to Captain Price’s radio call sign: “This is Bravo 6, radio silence.” The watch is mounted on a khaki green fabric strap and priced at 750 euros, a price that keeps it in the accessible register of the Hamilton catalogue rather than that of a limited-edition, high-priced collector’s piece.
A real military anchor
This creation also draws its inspiration from the historic General Service watches supplied by Hamilton to the British army — an echo of Captain Price’s fictional military past, which gives the object a double legitimacy, one drawn from the game, the other from the house’s real archives. Reliability, character and functionality thus become, according to Hamilton, the guiding threads of a piece designed to accompany action rather than a mere decorative spin-off.
A formula that becomes recurring
At 750 euros, this watch remains built on an existing catalogue model, the Khaki Field Mechanical, distinguished by cosmetic elements — case finish, dial printing, strap, engraving on the back — rather than by a new movement or an unprecedented complication. This is an important difference from the unique piece that the same watchmaking house might reserve for a charity sale or a collector client: here, the aim is clearly volume and accessibility, not rarity.
That this collaboration is entering its second annual chapter says something about the house’s strategy: video games are becoming a high-frequency, low-friction collaboration channel, complementary to its rarer and more costly cinema partnerships. It remains to be seen whether this annual regularity, a year after the first partnership, will turn the “collaboration” into a mere recurring range tied to each new instalment of the franchise.
Video games as a new brand territory
Collaborations between watchmakers and entertainment licences have multiplied in recent years, but few houses can claim such a long-standing anchor in cinema to justify an extension into video games. This narrative continuity, from the big screen to the game screen, allows Hamilton to present each new collaboration as the logical sequel to a brand story rather than as an isolated marketing operation, a nuance that matters for a watchmaking house keen to preserve its heritage credibility.
The commercial success of the first collaboration in 2025, for which the press release nevertheless gives no precise figure, seems to have been enough to justify this renewal for Modern Warfare 4 — a sign that the audience targeted by these special editions does exist, even if its scale remains, here again, undocumented.
