Elizabeth Arden outlines a four-step routine against “Heat Aging”

Faced with the growing number of extreme heat episodes, Elizabeth Arden structures its response to heat-induced skin ageing around four precise steps, from strengthening the skin barrier to overnight repair.

“Heat Aging”, a phenomenon still little documented for the general public

Beyond mere discomfort, high temperatures promote oxidative stress, weaken the skin barrier and are said to contribute to the degradation of collagen — a phenomenon researchers now call “Heat Aging”, heat-induced skin ageing. For Elizabeth Arden, this development justifies a routine distinct from classic sun protection, built around four complementary steps rather than a single miracle product.

The first step is to strengthen the skin barrier: the Advanced Light Ceramide Capsules, an ultra-light serum-capsule formulated with Ceramide NP and phytosphingosine, nourish the protective lipid barrier and help it retain hydration, in a non-comedogenic format designed for combination to oily skin stressed by heat (from 55 euros for 30 capsules).

Combining sun protection and antioxidants every day

The brand recommends systematically combining daily sun protection with antioxidant actives able to help the skin better withstand environmental aggressions. In the morning, the White Tea Skin Solutions Lotion, an infused biphase formula, delivers a dose of white-tea antioxidants while hydrating the skin under sun protection (38 euros for 200 ml), while the Eight Hour HydraPlay Fluide Hydratant Intense SPF 40 combines hydration, UVA/UVB protection and antioxidant defence in a light texture suited to high heat (40 euros for 50 ml).

Third principle: lighten textures without neglecting hydration. A shiny skin is not necessarily well hydrated in intense heat — the Visible Difference Gel Hydratant Complexe Reconstituant, an oil-free hyaluronic acid gel-cream, answers this contradiction with a cool texture designed for summer needs (52 euros for 75 ml).

Overnight repair as the final link

The fourth step comes in the evening, when the skin regenerates: the Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Sérum Rénovateur d’Éclat combine vitamin C and ceramides to support radiance and barrier function overnight, as a complement to daytime sun protection (from 98 euros for 30 capsules). This four-stage sequence — barrier, protection, lightness, repair — structures a seasonal approach rather than a fixed range, consistent with how dermatology now approaches the cumulative effects of heat on the skin.

Elizabeth Arden, four-step anti-Heat Aging routine: Advanced Light Ceramide Capsules (€55/30 capsules), White Tea Skin Solutions Lotion (€38/200 ml), Eight Hour HydraPlay SPF 40 (€40/50 ml), Visible Difference Gel Hydratant (€52/75 ml), Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules (€98/30 capsules). Available in perfumeries, department stores and on elizabetharden.fr.

By structuring its response around a scientific phenomenon still little covered in the media rather than a simple summer argument, Elizabeth Arden bets on education to justify a five-product routine — it remains to be seen whether the general public will retain the term Heat Aging beyond this campaign.
