TAG Heuer CARRERA HEUER-01
3 new models with a major innovation: the HEUER-01 is now available with a metal bracelet, particularly harmonious with the edges of its massive, sleek case.
Presented for the first time last year in Basel, the Carrera HEUER-01 is THE signature Chrono model from TAG Heuer. In 2015, the watch was the cornerstone of a new and growing collection, with a new design, a new HEUER 01 in-house caliber developed on the basis of the 1887, and a new modular case design with 12 elements allowing multiple combinations of materials and colors.
In 2016, the highly successful HEUER 01 range was expanded with 3 new references.
The first great novelty: the metal bracelet makes its appearance in the collection. It’s made of links with the Carrera H-shaped design, whose main characteristic is to allow alternating polished and satin finishes that are particularly harmonious with the edges of the massive, racy case. The outer links are vertically satin-finished, while the central link is polished. Each link is meticulously finished separately, one after the other, before the whole is assembled. A double safety device, opening with two pushers, completes the set.
The choice between steel and titanium: this year, the Carrera HEUER-01 is also available entirely in steel, case and bracelet, for an elegant, sporty look. Of course, the designers have retained the model’s signature skeleton dial, which reveals the chronograph controls and openworked date disk on the dial side, as well as the red column wheel – the visual anchor with the weight on the back of the watch.
Second proposal: all-titanium. A metal that resists corrosion, erosion and fire, titanium is widely used in the aeronautical, aerospace, chemical and medical fields. Twice as light and twice as resistant as steel, it was chosen for its modern character, its assertive and original aesthetics, and its minimal weight, perfectly in tune with the demands of a technical and sporting watch. Called Carrera HEUER-01 Grey Phantom, this model explores all shades of grey for a magnificent contemporary look.
Finally, the third version of the HEUER-01 combines ceramic and rubber. Case, bezel, lugs, middle – all parts exposed to friction – are now in black ceramic, to limit wear and tear while offering a beautiful deep black design. A black structured rubber strap completes the ensemble. Technically, to guarantee perfect water-resistance to 100 meters, steel is still present on all functional parts of the watch (inner case, screw-down caseback, push-buttons, etc.) to enable the gaskets (crystal gaskets, caseback gaskets, push-button gaskets and crown tube) to perform their full function.
