In 1767, Louis XV signed in Versailles the letter patent conferring on the Cristalleries Saint-Louis the title of Manufacture Royale. This precious document, still preserved in the Saint-Louis archives, testifies to the link that unites the two places and is renewed through the eras and the pieces (Galerie des rois, Trianon, Versailles, Tommy collections, etc.). Every day, Saint-Louis reinterprets an age-old art of entertaining in a contemporary and joyful way. In this way, La Cristallerie echoes the mission of the Château de Versailles, both a witness to French history and a palace for all kinds of festivities.
Galerie des Reines, the collection
One year after Galerie des Rois, Saint-Louis and the Château de Versailles unveil Galerie des Reines, a new collection of four crystal stemmed glasses with cutting motifs inspired by the decor of Versailles, in tribute to four emblematic sovereigns: Marie-Thérèse of Austria, Marie Leszczynska, Marie-Antoinette of Austria and Marie-Amélie de Bourbon Siciles. Continuing its tribute to the sovereigns, Galerie des Reines is offering an ideal gift at an affordable price for September 2020, bringing the savoir-faire worthy of the Court to every table. This boxed set of four glasses will inspire the table with history, while remaining rooted in modernity. These low-stemmed glasses, with their generous appearances and ringed legs, offer optimal ergonomics, an invitation to everyday use and freedom of appropriation. The legs, stamped with the initials of each queen and the Château de Versailles x Saint-Louis seal, are a pretext for play and the art of conversation. The crown designed by the waist reveals itself while drinking, while the identity of the associated Queen is revealed at the end of the meal.
