After an escapade in Lille and a spree in East London and bustling Soho, we had only one wish: to return to our first love, Parigi, with a new tratto out of the ordinary. Five years after the start of the Big Mamma adventure, we’re still as happy and moved as ever to present our eleventh crazy trattoria: Libertino.
Libertino is a direct flight to Montepulciano, Tuscany. It’s like stepping straight into the kitchen of this old family home. To the right, an impressive kitchen featuring the Maserati of charcoal ovens, our enormous Josper grill. On the left, a delightful array of desserts on the counter. In the basement, a full seventies atmosphere. Between psychedelic carpets and old-fashioned eroticism, the disco ball-like rotating bar puts on a show.
The à la carte menu features a festival of antipasti, from the mischievous tarte tatin with ultra-melting candied peppers, to the dazzling burnt leek dressed with fresh burrata, and the panadedda, Italian-style empanadas, whose recipe comes straight from Cagliari in Sardinia.
And for the very first time, we’re going for the Roman pizza. 36 cm in diameter, ultra-thin and mega-crisp. Impossible to choose between the deadly Mortad’Ella Ella with pistacchio pesto, and the explosive Orange Crush with unctuous pumpkin cream and fresh gorgonzola, so we take both. As for the cocktails, each creation is a new wild trip where the colors change, from pink to purple, in an explosion of flavors.
And because there are dishes we’ve been dreaming of offering for years, we’re launching pre-orders for gigantic dishes to share with friends. So, bim, bam, boom, when you make your reservation (and yes + bonus, we’re opening reservations for part of the restaurant), you’ll also be able to take advantage of the opportunity to order a huge, utterly colossal, 1kg truffle burrata to share with your 8 best buddies. And because your bff deserves the best, we’ll also be dishing out a very, very large and deliciously retro birthday cake.
