LOUIS XIII: time as raw material

LOUIS XIII goes back to the origins of cognac, with the honor of tierçons. These tell the story of another era, when eaux-de-vie were transported in casks, arranged three by three on horse-drawn carts.

The current cellar master, Baptiste Loiseau, is thinking of the centuries to come through a new dynamic: that of re-making these rare barrels. Entirely hand-crafted from French oak, these special barrels play a decisive role in the development of LOUIS XIII cognac’s aromas. All the eaux-de-vie selected for this jewel now pass through the tierçons.

To find out more about the life cycle of the famous tierçons that will welcome LOUIS XIII – from the oak planted in the forests of Limousin, to its cutting, the time it takes for the wood to express its notes and the work of the coopers – you’ll find the press release attached.

Taste LOUIS XIII, taste the aromas of time.
