To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the venerable House of Dior, Editions Assouline is releasing a collection of books on the various artistic directors who have contributed to Dior’s work since the end of 1946. Accompanied by superb photos by Laziz Hamani, the text is by Olivier Saillard, a leading figure in the history of fashion, notably as director of the Galliera Museum in Paris.
While many people think of Dior as the creations of John Galliano, Raf Simons or, more recently, Maria Grazia Chiuri, it’s a pleasure to immerse oneself in the aesthetics of Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré and Marc Bohan.
