L’Officine de l’Hôtel du Louvre renews itself to serve its customers unforgettable brunches, tea-times and snacks, as well as delicious cocktails, in a plant-based atmosphere.
L’Officine de l’Hôtel du Louvre, run by chefs Denis Bellon and Julien Delhome, has put on its finest attire for the start of the 2020 season. The new, very plant-based decor is sure to delight customers: the gentle rays of sunshine passing through the glass roof are reflected on the various foliage, while Marie is busy behind the bar.
Acknowledged in the cocktail world, Marie Picard, L’Officine’s manager, has everything to seduce: expertise, creativity and, above all, a menu of mouth-watering compositions. Inspired by everything around her, and in particular the plants in the Officine, Marie has the opportunity to express herself behind her bar, to make customers dream. For this new season, she decided to base her menu entirely on her working environment. “The Officine du Louvre logo refers to the glass roof,” she explains. “Each petal represents a plant and a cocktail. For this creative menu, she and her team opted for simplicity without forgetting the fun factor: twists on classics combined with different plants and French spirits.
In the drinks, as well as on the plates, customers will find the plant-based touch that inspired l’Officine this season. In keeping with the history of the place and the Officine, the Hôtel du Louvre has let plants reinvest the premises, as well as the menus. The chef has divided his menu into 3 sections: tapas, brunch and snacks. From now on, it will be possible to enjoy tapas in the evening under the glass roof. But little gourmets won’t be left out: l’Officine will welcome its customers for afternoon tea, to take advantage of the afternoon light. On Saturdays and Sundays, l’Officine opens its doors for a full brunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The restaurant was designed to reflect the history of pharmacies. The 1st arrondissement has long been the location of numerous officines and a favored place for working with plants. Meaning “workshop”, l’Officine du Louvre is where bartenders create unique drinks and cocktails to accompany and enliven the conversations in the room.
The glass roof in the heart of the hotel, with no direct access to the outside world, encloses customers in a reassuring cocoon, reminiscent of the original meaning of a pharmacy: a back room where products are made and stored.
