Equipped with a new blue dial with double soleillage, one deeper and one finer, the new LIP Himalaya 40mm automatic evokes the different shades of blue in the sky, while its faceted hour-markers and hands symbolize the high Himalayan peaks.
An emblematic LIP watch created in 1954, the Himalaya acquired its letters of nobility on the wrist of Maurice Herzog during his ascent of Annapurna.
The first watch in the world to reach an altitude of 8,000 meters, it conceals a sturdiness and reliability that stand the test of time.
Associated with numerous expeditions and sporting events, it notably accompanied the Tour de France in 1954, 1955 and 1956 – for which LIP was the official timekeeper – where it rewarded the best sportsman of the day.
Resistant to the elements and to shocks, it features a 316L Steel case with a glass back for viewing the rotor in motion, a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a date window at 3 o’clock and a 21600 vibrations per hour automatic movement with 40-hour power reserve.
Water-resistant to 50 meters, it features a camel-colored full-grain French leather strap.
