Fatima Lopes is the must-have Portuguese designer, and for this season it’s the magnificent setting of the Lido that has served as the den for this magnificent story. For this Fall Winter 2014-2015 season, Fatima delves into nature for inspiration. With Ad Naturam, the designer immerses herself in nature and its shapes, materials and colors.
The silhouette is protected in pieces with rounded shapes reminiscent of tree moss, bark and even the armor of insects, their cocoon. Solid and rigid, the pieces are structured to offer new volumes where femininity is both protected and exacerbated.
In earth tones and nudes mixed with intense blues and blacks, dresses, skirts and pants are enhanced by touches of green, from khaki to water green to metallic green, the unique color of the beetle. Materials are strong, with wool, cashmere and tartan playing and superimposing with the transparency of chiffon and voile. Outfits are sometimes accessorized with feathers, recalling the finesse of birds and echoing the magnificent cabaret that served as the setting for this fashion show.
The woman is as if transformed into a creature sublimated in a cocoon of security. She’s a creature of nature, ready to invade the city with her charm and presence.
