At Maitrepierre, the bag also holds the intimate

What do we show when we open our bag? Maitrepierre answers this question by precisely refusing to open it. In the film for its Spring-Summer 2027 collection, directed by Alexandre Carril, the new Le Peigne bag becomes a set inside which the silhouettes change scale. Among the objects featured is Womanizer SNAP.

Presented on 30 September 2026 at the Ministry of Culture as part of Paris Fashion Week, the collaboration pairs a fashion accessory with an object of intimate pleasure. The choice is not merely that of an unexpected placement. It alters the convention of the “What’s in my bag?” format, in which the contents of a bag usually serve to display a socially legible identity.

Alphonse Maitrepierre describes an independent, playful woman who refuses the expected objects. Womanizer presents SNAP as its smallest format and likens its design to that of wireless earbuds. These elements belong to the two partners’ communication; their cultural significance lies mainly in the shift of gaze they propose.

Here the bag becomes a narrative device. The intimate enters the field of fashion without the garment needing to depict it directly. It remains to be seen whether the collection itself gives this proclaimed freedom a form as precise as its film.
