LEONARD PARIS PRESENTS ITS SPRING-SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION UNVEILED ONLINE IN A SHORT FILM

SILKY WAVE

Take to the open seas, with passion and recklessness. Leonard’s spring-summer 2021 collection, imagined by artistic director Christine Phung, is set in a road-movie-style film. The collection comes to life by the ocean, embodied by two models, Margot and Maren, and professional surfer Nina Reynal. Free, sporty and joyful, the film’s heroines brilliantly embody today’s modern women, traveling aboard a retro Volkswagen combi, stopping as they please to challenge the ocean and its promises by day, and enjoying the warm summer evenings after dark.

With the Hawaiian shirt and its thousand facets as the collection’s common thread, Leonard Paris has imagined a sunny, versatile collection, in which the house’s craftsmanship and wealth of innovation come together in the service of beauty. The house’s iconic orchid merges with palms, hibiscus flowers and wave foam on loose, supple blouses, light silk jersey jumpsuits, airy ponchos and kimonos, a quilted silk seersucker coat and long pleated evening dresses in silk crepon. The surfer’s wardrobe is also highlighted, with technical details on short dresses or neoprene and mesh wetsuits, as well as colorful swimsuits or a hoodie sweatshirt printed in the house colors.

A real surfboard featuring the collection’s prints, as well as kites fashioned from silk shawls and squares, are also part of this dreamy voyage. Poetic, enthusiastic and colorful, next summer’s Leonard silhouette is resolutely optimistic. A true ode to new-found freedom.
