Paris, city of light and cultural capital of the world, was once again the scene of an unparalleled artistic spectacle. The second edition of Paris+ by Art Basel came to a close, consolidating the French metropolis’ reputation as the nerve center of the global art market. This not-to-be-missed event for art lovers and collectors featured 154 leading galleries, including 61 operating spaces in France, offering a fascinating panoramic view of the country’s thriving art scene.

The fair was held at the Grand Palais Éphémère from October 20 to 22, 2023, and attracted a varied audience, bringing together 38,000 visitors during its VIP and public days. Building on this success, the next edition of the show will be held at the iconic Grand Palais from October 18 to 20, 2024.

It was an edition expanded by the notable presence of international participants from Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, including 15 galleries joining Paris+ by Art Basel for the first time. The event also benefited from an open-access public program, realized in collaboration with the city’s world-class cultural institutions, and spread across six historic Parisian venues.

A showcase for world art

Paris has never been outdone when it comes to celebrating art, and this year it confirmed its role as the epicenter of world art. The Grand Palais Éphémère, located in the 7th arrondissement, was transformed into a veritable showcase for works of art, making this fair an unmissable experience for connoisseurs and novices alike.

Collaboration with cultural institutions

One of the successes of this event was the fruitful collaboration with world-renowned cultural institutions. This partnership has enriched the free public program with lectures, performances and interactive installations. This testifies to the shared determination of Paris and Art Basel to make art an accessible and integral part of the urban fabric.

A highly anticipated next edition

The announcement of the next edition at the Grand Palais, an emblematic monument of French architecture, testifies to Art Basel’s long-term commitment to the city of Paris. The Grand Palais, with its rich history and grand architecture, will be the ideal setting for a fair that aspires to be an annual rendezvous for art lovers from all over the world.
