Cristal 2013

THE VERY ESSENCE OF A GREAT WINE

From the Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, Cristal de Louis Roederer is the gift of an exceptional terroir, transformed into a treasure by extraordinary winemaking expertise.

Each new vintage of Cristal is an event, another milestone in the history of high standards, poetry and emotion that this great Champagne wine has been weaving since the Court of the Tsars.

Like its predecessors, Cristal 2013, unveiled today, reflects the quest for excellence that characterizes the family Champagne House now headed by Frédéric Rouzaud. Magnificent in its balance and elegance, this new vintage literally gets to the heart of the exceptional cuvée.

Refinement and freshness at their best

Harvested in October, the only one in two decades, Cristal 2013 offers a high degree of mineral concentration and finds magical depth in this late harvest.

The longer vegetative cycle, the dry, bright summer, and the long ripening of the grapes until the early autumn allowed two cuvées to emerge, a white and a rosé, remarkable for their balance and freshness, quintessences of the chalky purity and refinement so characteristic of Cristal.

This year, the Chardonnay, deeper, more complex and saltier, takes the Pinot Noir to a higher dimension, auguring remarkable potential. Cristal 2013 promises to be great, but also more intense and forged for the long term.

An earthy vintage

Continuing its commitment to a renaissance viticulture guided by gentle practices, biodynamic composts and respect for living organisms, Cristal 2013 perfectly embraces its terroir, rendering it in all its nuances.

Louis Roederer thus continues its path of innovation, the fruit of many years of reflection and experimentation around the indefectible link between Man and Nature.
