Apple introduced this week the all-new 9.7-inch iPad Pro: weighing less than 500 grams, it features a new Retina display with higher brightness, wider gamut and lower reflectivity as well as Night Shift mode. This display also incorporates the new True Tone display technology, which automatically adjusts the white balance. The new iPad Pro delivers incredible performance with a 64-bit A9X chip that rivals most laptops, and features a four-speaker audio system with twice the power¹, a new 12-megapixel iSight camera for taking Live Photos and shooting 4K video, a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera, and faster wireless connectivity technologies. In addition, the iPad Pro supports the revolutionary Apple Pencil as well as a new Smart Keyboard that fits the 9.7-inch size of the new iPad Pro.

It’s the ultimate upgrade for iPad users and the ideal replacement for PC users.”

Pro screen
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro features advanced display technologies, including a True Tone display that uses four-channel sensors to dynamically adjust the screen’s white balance based on the surrounding light to ensure a more natural, true-to-life, paper-like experience. The advanced Retina display offers 25 percent more brightness and 40 percent less reflectivity than the iPad Air 2, making it easier to see what’s on the screen, indoors and out. It uses the same gamut as the iMac with Retina 5K display for 25% more saturation1 and brighter images. A custom timing controller, photo-alignment and oxide TFT produce spectacular color, contrast and clarity. The Night Shift feature in iOS 9.3 leverages the iPad Pro’s clock and position to automatically adjust the display color to favor the warmest colors of the spectrum after dark, which can even contribute to better sleep quality.

The iPad Pro’s advanced iSight camera features an advanced 12-megapixel sensor with Focus Pixels for fast focus, an Apple-designed image signal processor, advanced noise reduction, third-generation local tone mapping and improved face detection, all for sharper, more detailed images, 63-megapixel panoramas or Live Photos. True Tone flash improves photo quality in low-light conditions as well as document scanning. The new iSight camera is capable of shooting 4K video, making the iPad Pro the perfect device for shooting, editing, and sharing professional-quality video. Thanks to the improved 5-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera, the new iPad Pro is ideal for videoconferencing or communicating with friends and family.
Audio pro
The four-speaker audio system delivers powerful, clear and rich stereo sound, with twice the power output¹. Built-in sensors adjust and optimize the sound regardless of the device’s orientation. In addition, iOS 9.3 now supports videos with Dolby Digital Plus audio streams, including multichannel sound via Apple’s digital Lightning AV Adapter.

The Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard, sold separately, enable the iPad Pro to deliver unrivalled levels of precision and productivity. Advanced sensors built into the Apple Pencil measure pressure and tilt for a natural drawing, annotation and note-taking experience. Designed specifically for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, the new Smart Keyboard features a slim, durable keyboard that doesn’t require charging or Bluetooth pairing, and folds easily into a Smart Cover. The new Lightning to SD Card Reader Adapter and Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter simplify uploading photos and videos to the iPad Pro, while a new Lightning to USB-C cable and Apple’s new 29W USB-C power adapter speed up charging.
Prices and availability
– The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is available in silver, sidereal gray, gold and now rose gold metallic finishes, starting at €695 incl. VAT for the 32GB Wi-Fi model and €845 incl. VAT for the 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Both sizes of iPad Pro are available with capacities of 32, 128 and 256 GB, the latter being the highest capacity for an iOS device.
– The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is available to order from Thursday March 24 on Apple.com, and in Apple Stores, as well as from selected operators and Apple Authorized Resellers from March 31 in the following countries: Australia, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States Virgin Islands.

– The Apple Pencil is available for €109 including VAT and the Smart Keyboard is available in charcoal grey for €169 including VAT. The Smart Cover for iPad Pro in polyurethane and the Silicone Covers for the iPad Pro 9.7″ are available for €59 and €79 respectively in new vibrant colors.
