Manu Reas Spring-Summer 2015

For his first Paris show, young designer Manu Reas takes us on a journey between past and present.

Created around a rather sober, even minimalist color palette of black, white and gold, this collection is mostly made up of elegant, structured silhouettes with a retro bent. Asymmetrical cuts are always sensual, sometimes enhanced by a gold belt for a chic, modern touch.

Manu Reas chose a mix of materials, inspired by his journey through time: the fluidity of voile and silk, subtly revealing the woman’s body and reminiscent of ancient oriental times, will bring a note of softness to a structured allure brought by a very contemporary technical material, neoprene.

Gilded leather and embroidery, evoking patterns and fabrics from India, Macedonia and Persia, are blended with geometric shapes reminiscent of modern architecture.

The designer presents an imposing, active, modern woman with a touch of elegance and, above all, the freedom to escape.
