Maison Chanson, founded in Beaune in 1750, has never ceased to fascinate lovers of exceptional wines. With Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches 2018, it invites us to an unforgettable tasting experience, a living testimony to its expertise and love of the vine.

The Majestic Legacy of Song:

With a history spanning almost three centuries, Chanson has always stood out for its exceptional estate. Covering an impressive 43 hectares and boasting a diversity of terroirs, most of which are classified as Premier or Grand Cru, Chanson is a key player in the Beaune Premier Cru appellation.

Clos des Mouches: A Bijou du Terroir:

Among Chanson’s treasures, Beaune Clos des Mouches occupies a special place. Occupying 4.2 hectares of the vineyard, of which 2.2 hectares are dedicated to Chardonnay, this sunny terroir, with its clay-limestone and stony soil, is magnificently positioned on the slopes of Mont Saint-Désiré. Its south-easterly aspect brings it into line with the illustrious Premiers Crus of Pommard.

Vintage 2018, A Mixture of Climatic Caprices:

2018 will be remembered as a singular year. After a rainy winter and a mild spring, the vines grew in leaps and bounds. Summer, on the other hand, was fiery with its heat waves, creating a marked drought. These conditions led to a harvest that began on August 28, under generous sunshine.

Tasting notes:

Clos des Mouches 2018 has a promising pale gold color. On tasting, it reveals fresh aromas of white-fleshed fruit, enhanced by a touch of toasted brioche and refined minerality. Well-structured and complex, this wine charms with its chiseled texture and full, elegant finish, punctuated by notes of roasted almonds.

Food and wine pairing:

Its elegance and richness make it the ideal companion for foie gras, langoustines and snacked scallops. For a cheese experience, opt for Citeaux, Epoisses or Comté.

The 2018 Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches, offered at a retail price of 109 euros, is the expression of Chanson’s unrivalled expertise. A nectar to discover for all lovers of great wines.
