Businessmen staying in Paris, newlyweds or simply lovers of a certain Parisian chic and discreet luxury, I have the address you need: the CHAMPS-ELYSEES PLAZA***** PARIS.
A century-old Haussmannian mansion of seven floors, a few steps from the most beautiful avenue in the world, the Champs Elysées Plaza has just brilliantly obtained its 5th star this fall, in harmony with the world of international luxury hotels.
.
In just a few years Dominique Ruchaud, owner of the CHAMPS-ELYSEES PLAZA***** PARIS, assisted by his wife Agnès, has turned this establishment, acquired in 2002, into an address not to be missed in Parisian luxury, imbued with a spirit that is both noble and refined. This hotel, dedicated to well-being, meets the expectations of a demanding clientele. A wellness area with a fitness room, steam room and sauna is available for the exclusive use of hotel guests, and each bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. Massages and treatments can also be performed in the rooms.
To offer us this magnificent setting, the hotel has been renovated under the artistic direction of Christine Gerondeau. The challenge was to bring a contemporary, chic and elegant touch to the place while keeping the atmosphere of 19th century classicism in order to satisfy both business and luxury tourism clients. And the challenge was met with flying colors. Precious materials and fabrics have been used for each of the uniquely styled rooms with high ceilings, marble fireplaces and moldings. The color palette used for the entire hotel (taupe, gray, apple green, Indian pink) recalled in each place highlights this exceptional place and offers a perfect definition of Parisian chic, a subtle alliance between classicism and contemporary.
Let me guide you through this beautiful building which has kept its Haussmanian style, while combining it with a more contemporary and very Parisian decoration. It feels almost like home.
We are about to enter this magnificent hotel at the foot of a fabulous glass and wrought iron marquee. Welcomed by a considerate doorman, we enter the premises and we find ourselves in front of a superb mosaic of time in front of an international staff, smiling and listening. And at the back of the lobby, we can see the portrait of the Countess of Keller, niece by marriage of Honoré de Balzac. On our right, the Bar Lounge design with its glass bar with a muffled atmosphere conducive to relaxation and conversation in small groups with chocolate walls and Louis XV bergères revisited. In the lobby on the left, a small space with a contemporary fireplace seems the ideal place to relax with a book. We arrive in front of the hydraulic elevator in wood and copper that will lead us to our apartments.
A bouquet of white roses, some chocolates and a little jazzy music welcome us in our spacious suite. As soon as we enter, we don’t hesitate for a second to settle down in the comfortable sofas of the living room to enjoy the few rays of the afternoon sun. The marble fireplace sits in the middle of the living room, which is equipped with the latest high-tech equipment, including flat-screen satellite television, video on demand, a mini hi-fi system with CD player, a mini bar, a Nespresso machine and a teapot… For business people who need to stay connected to the world, high speed internet access is available.
Let’s open huge velvet padded doors to discover our room. The king size bed covered with faux fur plaid is topped with a leather headboard with saddle stitching. The closet is covered with overstitched leather and completes a custom designed and manufactured furniture. Note that the bulbs are energy saving in the sustainable development approach developed by the hotel.
If you want to freshen up, let’s go to the vast Art Deco bathroom with an old-fashioned bathtub on legs and Hermès care products at your disposal. Let’s enjoy the light-filled atmosphere offered by the large windows that let the daylight in.
A true French refinement.
But I advise you to go and see for yourself. You will see, it is an exceptional place.
