Château Coquillas 2013, a stylish and charming wine

The Bordeaux trilogy is present at Château de France: soil, subsoil and slope are the unequivocal prerequisites for producing a great wine. Château de France’s 40 hectares (including 36 hectares of reds) are planted on one of the highest slopes of the Léognan terrace, the highest of the four gravel terraces built over time. The terroir for this cuvée is very deep gravel on a clay-limestone subsoil.

The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by 7 to 10 days of fermentation and 3 to 4 weeks of maceration in vats. Malolactic fermentation in vats. Aged in 2- to 3-wine barrels for 12 months, followed by light filtration through a lenticular filter before bottling.

A shimmering garnet-red color, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, morello cherry and menthol. On the palate, a stylish, charming wine, combining mineral notes with fruit and a fine tannic structure.

Suggested retail price: 12.40 euros (available in magnum at 25.20 euros)
