A traditional brasserie in the heart of the Grand Palais, signed Chanel, a convivial setting for a collection with multiple proposals. The work on materials and 3D quilted effects is particularly noteworthy. Emblematic tweed is reinvented in a thousand and one ways. Winks to French bistros can be found in an apron skirt that gives a new allure to the silhouette, or checkered fabrics. The expertise of Chanel’s ateliers is reflected in the many graphic embroideries that recall brasserie floors. Small hooded parkas, straight or slightly flared skirts, paletots, jeans – all the wardrobe essentials are there. Knits were colorful and warm, with long tubular dresses. A show of great richness where couture tradition is reviewed and corrected, for a contemporary and urban fashion.
