Château Grand Ormeau is over two centuries old. In Féret’s memory, Grand Ormeau wine has been perfectly identified since 1874.
Château Grand Ormeau, a Lalande de Pomerol haute couture.
It was in 1988 that Jean-Claude Beton, inventor of the famous little round Orangina bottle, took over Château Grand Ormeau. While the man had a genius for business, he was also a true wine enthusiast, and when he discovered Grand Ormeau he literally fell under the spell of this “little jewel”. Its terroir appealed to him, and he felt that it was predisposed to excellence… isn’t the vineyard just a few meters from the mythical Pétrus?
Jean-Claude Beton then set about restoring the vineyard and its production facilities, for which he invested heavily.
He surrounded himself with the best, such as the famous Libourne oenologist Michel Rolland.
In just a few years, Jean-Claude Beton has raised Grand Ormeau wines to the highest level of excellence…

Today, Françoise Beton is “turning orange into red” with a remarkable debut at Château Grand Ormeau!
Françoise Beton took up her new position as General Manager at Château Grand Ormeau on January 1, 2008.
Françoise Beton, a graduate of Sup de Co, spent 20 years (1983-2003) with the Orangina/Pernod Ricard group, where she held the position of Director of Communications for France and International. She quickly made a name for herself with her ideas and dynamism, which could only be described as genetic!
Remember Lambada, Orangina Light or red Orangina? Well, she’s the “responsible” one…
