Wallace Chan is universally recognized as the only Chinese-born jeweler to master both innovative creation and revolutionary technique. He will be exhibiting at the Biennale specially created for the 27th Biennale des Antiquaires. In 2012, Wallace Chan becomes the first and only Asian artist invited to participate in this prestigious event. The Master of the Orient presents a collection of jewellery art featuring the rarest and most extraordinary diamonds and precious stones. Wallace Chan’s indisputable mastery as a sculptor and jeweler enables the stones to emit an ethereal light, a quality sometimes lacking in the purest of gems.
This year, Wallace Chan is once again the guest of the Biennale des Antiquaires; he remains the one and only Asian invited to this prestigious event. He has also accepted the invitation of Christian Deydier, president of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires (SNA) and the 27th Biennale, to serve as official ambassador for the Asia region. “Wallace Chan had won over the public at the 2012 Biennale. I am delighted that he has agreed to become our official ambassador in Asia for the upcoming 2014 edition,” said Deydier.
“I create because I have stories to tell”, explains the master jeweler. Wallace Chan jewels are not only pieces of formidable poetic and conceptual depth: they are also concrete, tangible works of intricate form and design, featuring astonishing craftsmanship. His innovative setting and molding techniques engage the minds of even the most experienced and assiduous viewers, who never cease to marvel at the fruit of his talent and unique vision.
Gleams of Waves|Broche
The fish swims nonchalantly towards us, its iridescent coat rich in color. Its broad fins sway to the rhythm of the ocean waves, unaware of the cruel lack their absence would create. The fish’s diaphanous sails draw our gaze, compelling us to contemplate it as it passes before us in its aquatic universe.

Wings outstretched, shades of blue, gold and green rise from its ashes; the wind blows, the clouds spin, and its sun-colored eyes rise to the heavens, attentive, under its majestic crown. King of birds, queen of queens, he brings goodwill and luck to all who cross his path.
