Hairstyling genius Charlie le Mindu surprises us season after season. This season, he offers us a collection inspired by the seapunk or spacepunk movement, the idea being to discover a new world where man has never been before, but which is possible and palpable in the near future.
This choreographed, crazy and brilliant fashion show presents us with imaginary futuristic dominatrix creatures addicted to latex, topped with luminescent hair reminiscent of underwater creatures. We stroll through a marine dream in complete darkness, with only the extravagant colors of the headdresses visible.
The phosphorescent, supernatural colors “spit out” the idea of a futuristic perspective, without neglecting references to modern technologies, but also to techno music, which holds the night and makes it a space apart.
If it echoes the desire to work on emptiness, weightlessness and forms – as if levitating -, the collection is called stronger because the research and work on color is both extreme and highly energetic.
The treatment of colors requires a great deal of technique, as it is necessary to work for several consecutive months in the dark and under blacklight to obtain a luminescent color.
Hence the double interest of this collection, which combines the mastery of six different braids and meticulous embroidery work, since the details are as much at work in the dark under ultraviolet radiation as in daylight.
This colorful, lively color wheel offers different degrees of reading, depending on the environment in which man observes and imagines these floating objects.
