Benriach The Smoky Twelve

Founded in 1898, the Benriach distillery has constantly experimented to create unique Single Malts, among the most complex in Speyside. In the early 1970s, Benriach broke with the region’s conventions by returning to the traditional
distillation of peated malted barley, making it one of the only Speyside distilleries to offer peated whiskies in its permanent range.
Benriach offers a portfolio of distinctive peated expressions, depending on the cask type and ageing time used. The Smoky Twelve reveals a rich smoky character and its own aromatic profile, thanks to an atypical and rare
blend of three types of cask: Bourbon, Sherry and Marsala. The result is a 12-year-old peated Single Malt with golden-brown highlights and aromas of creamy ripe fruit and spicy oak enveloped in gentle smoke. The nose releases the richness of peat with notes of smoky vanilla, grilled orange and toasted almond. On tasting, the peaty notes are sustained, followed by aromas of dark chocolate, fruit peel, brown sugar and smoky oak.
A lingering note of cocoa and a smoky orange finish complete this creative heritage.
