One day in 1933, a man sported a curious crocodile on his blazer. That man was René Lacoste, and the crocodile became one of the emblems of a new, close relationship between sport and refinement. Through the courtesy of tennis, Lacoste was one of the first to announce that sport and fashion would become one. A truth that took a long time to admit, especially in France, the cradle of haute couture and primping. Now, more than ever, this truth is coming to light. Since 1933, the pace of men’s and women’s lives has accelerated. Today, they need to be fluid, mobile and active, whether professionally, physically or mentally. Comfort, performance and style have become indispensable weapons in the battle of everyday life for modern-day warriors.

With this changing context in mind, it seems logical that for the Autumn Winter 2015 Women’s collection Lacoste has chosen to reference its tennis origins and update it for women. This choice reflects a respect for the past while looking resolutely to the future, taking into account the demands of modern life and enabling easy and comfortable transition from the street to the tennis court. The LACOSTE shoe collection, “INSPIRED BY THE COURT, SINCE 1933” underpins the maxim that “life is a beautiful sport”, a niche that many women would endorse.

This women’s collection comprises 5 aptly titled models: Casual Luxury, Tonale Palettes, Light Lifestyle, Monochrome Court and Light Jersey. Each model is different, but what they have in common is style, contemporary finesse, quality materials and comfort.
