It was in 1899, on the foundations of a newly independent Mexico, after years of oppression and revolution, that SOL beer was born. Born on the outskirts of Mexico City, this authentic beer is the fruit of the determination of emancipated brewers. In the image of an emancipated people, SOL, one of the first Mexican lagers, is an integral part of the heritage and inspiration of a free Mexico, proud of its history and vibrant culture.

Before its arrival in France, SOL had long been a regional beer, the beer of the Mexican people. So what could be more natural than to return to its roots and export the country’s most popular aperitif to French tables?
SOL has therefore chosen the most unusual pairing: fresh beer and grilled “chapulines”!
Chapulines”, small crickets, are native to the Mexican city of Oaxaca. Here, they are concocted by the French brand Jimini’s, specialists in grilled insects. The new recipe for these paprika chapulines, offered in the SOL Aperitivo Libre box, is inspired by Mexican street food. High in protein and flavor, grilled insects have been eaten for centuries in Mexico, and are sure to be the foodstars of the moment!

SOL, with its fine, harmonious aromatic palette, offers a slight bitterness at the back of the palate that goes perfectly with the crunchiness of
crickets. A refreshing and original experience that perfectly illustrates the shared values of these two brands.
