“Follow your inner drive” – or “Suis ton instinct” – is what Cartier is urging us to do with the launch of its new Drive collection. The Drive man follows this advice. Free-spirited, he flouts codes and ventures out without fear. Aesthete and elegant, this is Cartier’s vision of the modern man, self-confident and passionate. His watch is his reflection, not a status symbol. He’s a connoisseur, sensitive to the rightness of a fold, a patina, a reverse side, those details that make all the difference to him. Was it the balance between the volume of the case and the tension of the lines of the Drive de Cartier watch that he spotted? This stylish watch cultivates signs of character through the cushion-like aesthetics of its case. The Drive de Cartier is an enthusiast’s watch in the great tradition of Cartier shaped watches.

The Drive de Cartier Collection, whose presence is affirmed by the aesthetics of the original Drive de Cartier watch, evolves in different versions. Its rose gold or steel case features a black, grey or white guilloché dial with Roman numerals and glaive hands. The transparent caseback reveals the Manufacture 1904 MC movement, available in two versions:
hour, minute, small seconds and date for the 1904-PS MC and second time zone, day and night indicator, large date, small seconds for the 1904-FU MC. The Drive de Cartier watch is also available in a Poinçon de Genève-certified Haute Horlogerie version, equipped with the 9452 MC flying tourbillon.

An expression of the Cartier vocabulary, its taut curves and refined lines create a stylish, elegant and modern identity. This mechanical style, dear to the watchmaking House, is reflected in the three calibers that power the Drive de Cartier watch: the 1904-PS MC, the 1904-FU MC for the small complication and the 9452 MC movement for the Haute Horlogerie version. All three movements are made at the Manufacture Cartier. The 1904 MC caliber, created in 2010, is one of the first movements designed, developed and assembled by Manufacture Cartier. The careful finishing of the 1904 MC caliber attests to Cartier’s high standards for its movements: witness the bridges and oscillating weight bearing the Côtes de Genève decoration, or the polished screw heads. To ensure optimum chronometric stability, the 11 ½-line caliber was designed. A double barrel guarantees a constant spring-motor torque over a long period. Equipped with a fine-adjustment system, this caliber was designed to adjust the movement’s chronometry and offer high running accuracy. As for the caliber 1904-FU MC, born in 2014, it combines a retrograde second time zone, day/night indication, large date and small seconds; these complications are coordinated directly by the crown. This movement equips the small complication model of the Drive de Cartier watch.
