Duo de Conseillante 2010: elegant Pomerol!

In 2007, Château La Conseillante, one of the most emblematic estates on Pomerol and the Right Bank, launched its second wine, “Duo de Conseillante”. Made from younger vines, “Duo” expresses all the complexity and elegance of this great Pomerol terroir.

Duo de Conseillante is made from vines of an average age of 14 years, planted on a soil of grey clay and gravel, resting on red clay. They are pruned in double guyot. Their planting density is 7,000 plants per hectare. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted both manually and mechanically. Pre-fermentation cold maceration lasts 3 days at 10°C and vatting 23 days. The vats, adapted to each plot, are fully temperature-controlled. The selection is made in a vertical press and the batches are aged separately throughout the maturing process.Duo de Conseillante 2010 is composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. A bellows filling is performed every 3 months.
Duo de Conseillante is just like Château La Conseillante: fruity and well-balanced. It has notes of licorice, violets and red berries. It will be ready to drink more quickly thanks to its softer tannic structure. This is an elegant, fine wine: the perfect example of a Pomerol to enjoy with medium-bodied dishes.

Duo de Conseillante 2010 is sold
in all good wine shops
at an average retail price of €60.
