THE OPENING OF W MILAN IN AUTUMN 2023 MARKS THE W BRAND’S DEBUT IN THE ITALIAN FASHION CAPITAL
The W Milan, owned by Gruppo Statuto and managed by Marriott International Inc. will make its debut in Italy’s fashion capital this autumn. It is located on Piazzetta Bossi, just behind the famous Teatro alla Scala and a stone’s throw from the bohemian Brera district.
Studio Urquiola’s project was to reinterpret the Italian rationalist architecture of the original 50s building and create a vibrant, contemporary interior design to capture the Milanese essence through its colors, materials, finishes and inspirations.
The W Milan will feature 116 rooms, including 14 suites and an Extreme WOW suite, a version of the presidential suite. The hotel will offer an eclectic mix of dining venues to its cosmopolitan and local guests. Japanese restaurant Odachi will offer authentic cuisine in a sophisticated setting, while those seeking a true Italian experience can indulge in Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton’s Scena. The W Lounge will be a welcoming space in the heart of the hotel, where guests can enjoy aperitivo, small Milanese dishes and live performances. The W Milan will be distinguished by its emblematic rooftop, complete with swimming pool and lounge areas, the ideal place to soak up Italian energy and admire the city’s skyline. In the evening, Aria, the rooftop skybar, will transform into the city’s must-visit venue, offering delicious food, cocktails and DJ sets.
