Château d’Issan, an emblematic estate in the Margaux appellation, presents its 2022 vintage. This perfectly balanced wine boasts a unique signature, combining intense fruit nuances, aromatic depth and refined structure.

Château d’Issan’s vineyard, walled in since 1644, extends over 52 hectares, 35 of which are in a single block, and is rooted in a terroir of Graves and deep clay. Clos d’Issan has the particularity of being fed by deep clay, which has enabled it to withstand the extreme weather conditions of the 2022 vintage and preserve all the freshness of the fruit.

The 2022 vintage combined intense weather conditions, with high temperatures during the summer and significantly low rainfall. Flowering began on May 16, with full bloom on May 25. Véraison began relatively early, on July 6. Harvesting took place exclusively in September, from the 15th to the 28th. This is when the grapes reach optimum ripeness and exceptional quality.

To achieve even greater precision, the estate has continued to invest, inaugurating a micro-vatroom with the 2022 vintage. This has enabled us to make an even more precise plot selection, bringing out the best in the estate’s five grape varieties.

Château d’Issan 2022 is a blend of five grape varieties for the third time (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot). It boasts a particularly bright, vibrant color, magnificent concentration and refined power.

All in all, the 2022 vintage of Château d’Issan is distinguished by a unique signature, combining intense fruit nuances, aromatic depth and refined structure. This perfectly balanced wine is the fruit of an exceptional terroir and the precision of the estate’s new micro-vatroom.
