HEAVENSAKE. Its name is an evocation, its young history, an audacity as well as an adventure. A rare experience where France and Japan, two high cultures of pleasure and the art of living, meet to create an original sake.
For the first time, the reputation of French oenological expertise is combined with the age-old tradition of Japanese sake. Régis Camus, one of Champagne’s greatest cellar masters, drew his inspiration from Champagne methods to create a unique sake in Japan, a blend of the finest sakes from one of Japan’s most famous names, Maison Dassai.
The result is HEAVENSAKE, an unexpected revelation of authentic quality sake from Dunmai Daiginjo. An eminently Japanese sake transcends French style and sensibility.
Original and respectful, natural and inventive, festive and gourmet, sincere and legitimate, HEAVENSAKE is part of the energy of these << modern terroirs >> that assert their origins to open up to new tastes from around the world. A contemporary sake where France and Japan broaden the horizons of a legendary spirit.
Since the 19th century, France and Japan have shared a complicity of attraction, respect and exchange. An elective affinity that finds expression in works, people and worlds. From painting to literature, from fashion to cuisine. By daring to create the first Franco-Japanese sake, HEAVENSAKE is extending this complicity through the unexpected charm of a spirit.
Sake is an age-old art, a living memory of the Archipelago. More than a beverage, it is a tradition in which every element is exacting: the quality of the rice selected, the purity of the water, the polishing of the grain – precise, precious, deep – to extract its quintessence, and the patient alchemy of fermentation.
Wine is the culture that has shaped France’s landscapes and civilized its pleasures. Even more so in Champagne, where wine is orchestrated like music. A score where science meets the senses: the strength of the soil, the power of the grape varieties, the magic of the bubbles and the genius of the blend make up a great Champagne.
HEAVENSAKE is the fruit of this dual culture. Because tradition does not preclude innovation, because identity does not stand in the way of open-mindedness, and because boldness authorizes sentiment, HEAVENSAKE is the first sake made by blending.
A creation is always a story of people and personalities. At the heart ofHEAVENSAKE is Régis Camus. Cellar master at Piper Heidsieck, ii is one of
