You probably didn’t know it, but :
- 55% of unfaithful women don’t feel guilty about having an affair
- 37% of women involved in extramarital affairs think they’re doing nothing wrong
- 70% of women believe that their partner would not abandon them if their affair were revealed
- Men, on the other hand, are more willing to admit that they feel guilty or that they’re doing something wrong.
A recent survey has revealed the intriguing views of the secret world of married cheaters. Apparently, men and women have totally different ideas about the same subjects: women feel much better about cheating on their partners.
The survey conducted by Victoria Milan – an extramarital dating site for couples – delved into the naughty personal details of 4650 female and male members.
The overriding message is clear: women are far more ruthless than men when it comes to their infidelity, and they retain higher self-esteem in spite of it.
The majority of unfaithful women (55%) don’t feel guilty about their infidelity, while 77% of men feel guilty about their extramarital affair. Many women simply consider that they’re doing nothing wrong (37%), while men are stricter in their judgment, with the majority admitting they know it’s wrong, even if they feel good about having an affair (51%).
Interestingly, 66% of women admit that an affair would not be worth having if it could be brought out into the open, which is very similar from the male perspective with 64% of men agreeing with this fact.
Another difference between unfaithful men and women concerns their thoughts on what their partner would do if he/she found out about their affair. Only 30% of women surveyed felt that their partner would abandon them, compared to a surprising 91% of men who were certain that their relationship would end if their secret rendezvous was exposed.
Sigurd Vedal, CEO and founder of Victoria Milan, explains that the results shed new light on stereotypes about infidelity. “Thanks to over four years’ experience in the infidelity market, it’s clear to me that men who have affairs are perceived as ruthless, even insensitive. Yet these results show that women feel much better about this than men.”
Sigurd Vedal adds: “This proves that unfaithful women are much more sophisticated and inflexible infidels, thinking that even if they were discovered, they could keep their relationship, whereas men know that if their infidelity were known it would put an end to their relationship. This is where VM comes in, making sure that every affair remains a secret.”
