At Courrèges, hair moves from natural to sculptural

The hair for the Courrèges Spring-Summer 2027 show is built in two stages. For the first, Cyndia Harvey wanted to preserve each model’s personality: separated lengths, supple texture and a deliberately undone look. For the second, she chose a smoothed or braided shape, built around a bun and conceived as a small sculptural volume.

Harvey, head of the show’s hair team with L’Oréal Professionnel, calls this second silhouette the “mini alien”. The nickname sheds light on the relationship between beauty and clothing: the hair does not simply decorate the outfit, it extends the graphic lines and the strangeness of the hats described for the collection.

Both options avoid runway uniformity. One lets individual singularity show; the other embraces the work of construction. The tension between these gestures echoes the announced direction of the Courrèges collection under Drew Henry, between archive references and more experimental forms.

The list of products used belongs to the beauty team’s protocol. What deserves attention above all is the decision of form: on the same runway, the hair can leave the body free and then become almost an architecture.
