The Beatles are timeless music icons and bring together all generations. In March 2014, Vans and the Beatles are offering a footwear collection together that pays tribute to the legendary Yellow Submarine, made in 1968.
This unique collaboration features four original pairs of Vans Classics, inspired by the album cover. The 4 portraits of each Beatle can be found on the right and left sides of the Vans. The Classic Slip-On features the amusing “Sea of Monsters” with a continuous underwater scene on the different models, from left to right. The Era and Authentic feature a charming, picturesque garden and an all-over “All You Need Is Love” print. Yellow Submarine’s graphic code even permeates the smallest Vans details, marking the soles and woven labels of lace-up pairs of Vans. It also adorns a collector’s box specially designed for the occasion.
Yellow Submarine features songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. “Eleanor Rigby”, “When I’m Sixty-Four”, “Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds”, “All You Need Is Love” and “It’s All Too Much” are iconic songs that advocate peace, love and hope.
Vans is an international sports footwear and apparel brand. It is best known for its snowboard boots and accessories in over 170 countries worldwide. This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles. That’s why Vans wants to honor the group and their influence in the world of music, art and pop culture. This capsule collection will be on sale from March 17, 2014 in all points of sale.
