The Société des Bains de Mer group is launching its first virtual reality video at the 2015 IBTM World trade show in Barcelona, presenting the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort from a business tourism perspective. The new tool, featuring state-of-the-art technology, has been designed for quick and easy use, and takes the form of a 3D mask.
A digital flat screen is positioned just a few centimetres in front of the eyes, while various sensors detect head movements, enabling the image projected on the screen to be adapted in real time. Meeting and convention organizers can walk through the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort on an inspection tour led by Alice GENTILS – Group Sales Director – and experience the hotel as if they were there.
A real visit was filmed and recorded in all directions at the same time. For the real-effect shots, the group chose to use the Panocam3D technological solution, whose quality is indisputable, combined with the Samsung Gear headset. This consists of a multi-camera set-up, enabling 360° top-to-bottom shooting, followed by a process called stitching, which consists of “gluing” the shots taken with the different cameras, with the aim of producing a single 360° panoramic film.
