Kering reports quarterly sales of €3.345 billion. At Gucci, traffic remains the point of tension despite an improved conversion rate, as announced.
A stable figure can conceal several movements. In the third quarter of 2026, Kering reports revenue of €3.345 billion, unchanged on a reported basis but down 1% on a comparable basis. The currency effect adds one point to the reported change, with no scope effect.
Gucci: coming in, then buying
Gucci’s sales stand at €1.291 billion, down 4% reported and 6% comparable. In its press release, Kering presents traffic as the main constraint. The group does, however, report an improvement in conversion, price and basket.
These indicators describe different stages of retail. Turning more visits into purchases does not automatically offset a fall in the number of visitors. Likewise, a higher basket is not enough to measure the depth of the relationship with clients.
Reading the boutique beyond the aggregate figure
The interest of the quarter lies in this distinction. It makes it possible to examine separately the attraction exerted by a house and the work done once the customer is present. Creative renewal, its visibility and the shopping experience do not necessarily produce their effects at the same time.
Kering’s publication does not yet demonstrate a lasting recovery at Gucci. It rather specifies where the declared imbalance lies. To judge the following periods, it will be necessary to see whether the improvement in conversion is accompanied by a return of visits, keeping the same basis of comparison.
