Elie Saab lights up the Cannes Festival with two new essences

During our trip to Cannes, we had the immense privilege of visiting the Elie Saab suite, where all the stars get dressed before going up the Red Carpet. In particular, we were able to see the dress worn by Naomi Watts to open the Festival in this incredible Martinez suite.

A little later, we changed suites to discover the Elie Saab Parfums suite, dedicated to the launch of Elie Saab’s new essences, Neroli and Vetiver.
The two latest fragrances to join La Collection des Essences have a very personal touch. Essence No. 6 : VETIVER and Essence No. 7 : NEROLI continue to draw inspiration from the craftsmanship of Haute Couture, while revealing a little of the man at work behind the magic.

While all ELIE SAAB olfactory creations are the fruit of intense collaboration between French perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and Elie Saab himself, Essence No. 6: VETIVER is also the culmination of a quest for perfection and the fulfillment of a personal taste.

Elie Saab wanted a fragrance he could wear himself. Francis Kurkdjian captured an elegant, woody ambience with two precious essences of Haitian and Java vetiver, enhanced by notes of Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit, papyrus and clove. It’s a fragrance I’ve adopted immediately, and one that’s never left me.

Also known as Neroli, the flower takes its name from a 16th-century Italian princess renowned for bathing in waters scented with delicate white flowers. When Francis Kurkdjian discovered a source of orange blossom grown in Lebanon, he began work on Essence No. 7: NEROLI to complete La Collection des Essences. This fragrance is reminiscent of Elie Saab’s origins: orange blossom embalms the sweetness of Lebanon. It is a unique alliance of purity and charisma, two essential ingredients that sublimate the magic of Elie Saab’s Haute Couture.
